This is the final CD cover design for my major project at uni.

My brief is from a band from Newcastle that i'm quite fond of: [link]

I designed their new logo, the CD cover design and a Poster design for this project, i was going to do a website as well, but the project was getting too big so i left it at these pieces.

I'm really happy with the way this has turned out. I'll only put this photo up even though the resolution isn't the best, since this CD may be produced commercially in the future i need to protect it.

they're just a local Australian band, haven't made it big yet, though they have the ability to one day.

Think you have a great eye for using fonts in the design - and the girl... holding the iron balloon - is one of those images that think draws the eye from a distance because of the "simplicity" - - - then a smile when seen up close. Nice work IMHO - and do hope your instructor - as well as the band - agrees

thanks, typography has always been something i've enjoyed, so i'm glad it came across well.

yea i'm hoping the band like it as well, i've just sent it to them, but i haven't heard back form them yet, as for instructor/teacher we'll find out when i get my marks back after i hand the project in next wednesday

awesome. my work is done here then. i wanted to achieve this result as they are basically an undiscovered band, so the artwork takes on a more important role since thei name doesn't sell itself yet. too many indie bands have shocking artwork, and thats coz hey can't afford to pay a decent designer...
